What is the FME International User Conference?
The FME International User Conference (FME UC) is where hundreds of the world’s top data experts come together for three days of inspiring and informative sessions to advance their skills, exchange knowledge, and discover new ideas for their data in beautiful Vancouver, Canada.

Online registration for the FME UC is available from the registration page.

What is included in the FME UC Pass?
The FME UC Pass includes admission for the three conference days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (May 24-26, 2017).
Delicious breakfast, snacks, and lunch are included on each conference day. The evening social on Wednesday, May 24 will also include dinner.
Which methods of payment do you accept for registration?
Credit cards (MasterCard, VISA and American Express) are accepted securely through the Eventbrite service.
Offline payment methods are also accepted until May 15, 2017. You can select one of these options by choosing ‘Pay by Cheque’ during registration.

When does registration close?
Registration cut-off is dependent on the payment method:
Registration will remain open for credit card orders and will be available onsite at the conference. Credit cards (MasterCard, VISA and American Express) are accepted securely through the Eventbrite service.
Registrations close for offline payment methods. Purchase orders, cheques and wire transfers: payment must be made within 30 days of order date or by May 15, 2017, whichever is sooner to avoid cancellation.
What if I need to cancel or transfer my registration to another person in my company?
You may transfer your conference pass to someone else for free up to and including May 15, 2017.
If you’re unable to attend and can’t find a replacement, you may cancel your registration for a full refund by March 31, 2017. Between April 1 – 30, 2017 you may cancel your registration for a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after May 1, 2017.

Is there special pricing for speakers?
Speaker passes will be available at a discounted rate of $1000 ($500 savings off the regular conference rate). Once you are confirmed as a speaker, you will receive a special code to access the Speaker pass.
How can I justify attending to my manager?
The FME UC is an investment in your knowledge and skills. It’s a chance for you to network and make connections with hundreds of data professionals from around the world. And it’s an opportunity to gain fresh inspiration so your organization can stay at the leading edge of data technology.

Does the FME UC Pass include access to Pre-conference Training?
No, but Pre-conference Training can be easily added to your FME UC Pass when you register or at a later date.
Can I add Pre-conference Training to my FME UC Pass after I register?
Yes, you can purchase pre-conference training after registering for the FME UC. Select Pre-conference Training from the registration page and make sure to login to Eventbrite with the email and password used to purchase your FME UC pass.
What is included in Pre-conference Training?
Pre-conference Training on Tuesday, May 23 is a full day of hands-on learning. Various classes will be offered. Topics and scheduled to be announced.
Delicious breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included on the Pre-conference Training day.
When can I select my Pre-conference Training courses?
After registering, you will receive an email with instructions to select your training courses. You can choose one morning and one afternoon course.
What do I need to bring for Pre-conference Training?
Please bring a laptop that can connect to Wifi and remote desktop to Windows machines. A remote Windows machine with FME Desktop will be provided, plus various installations of FME Server and/or FME Cloud.
Agenda & Sessions
When will the schedule be finalized?
The full list of plenaries, breakout sessions, workshops and more is available on the agenda page. Sessions will finalized a few weeks before the conference, but there may be changes or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances.
How can I manage my conference agenda?
Can I get an FME certification at the conference?
At this time, there will not be FME certification offered at the conference. If you have any questions about certification or would like to apply, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try our best to accommodate you.
What conference activities are available?
There are a variety of activities available throughout the conference week. You can find all the conference activities through Sched by filtering the “Fun”. Most activities require signups for a guaranteed spot, please see below for more information.
- Tuesday, May 23, 2017 – Soccer* (5-7pm) & Pub Night (7-9pm)
- Wednesday, May 24, 2017 – Main Conference Social (6-10pm)
- Thursday, May 25, 2017 – Morning Run* (6:30-7:30am) and Hackathon** (6pm-9pm)
- Friday, May 25, 2017 – Morning Yoga* (6:30-7:30am)
*For the sport activities signup, please indicate the activities you’d like to participate in and fill out the Recreational Activities Waiver form.
**For Hackathon sign up and project idea submission, please fill out the Hackathon Signup form.
Can I bring a guest to any of the conference activities?
Depending on the activity, you may be able to bring a guest:
- Sport activities – you are welcome to bring a guest, please have your guest fill out the Recreational Activities Waiver form accordingly.
- Guest Keynote/Social Pass can be purchased if your guest would like to come to the main plenary session with Chris Hadfield (Wednesday, May 24th) and the Main Conference Social.

What do I need to know about the book signing?
Following the plenary session on Wednesday May 24th, Chris Hadfield will be available for a 2-hour book signing. A limited quantity of two of Hadfield’s books will be available for purchase onsite:
Each book is $20CAD (incl. taxes). Cash and credit card payments are accepted.
Please note this book signing is on a first come first serve basis.
Food & Beverages
Are food and beverages included in the conference registration?
Yes, all full conference passes include the following meal times for the duration of the conference: breakfast, break snacks and lunch.
Dinner will be included on the Wednesday evening social. There will also be food provided during the Thursday hackathon.
What should I do if I have food allergies?
Please make sure to note in your registration (through Eventbrite) of any food allergies and we will do our best to accommodate you. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Do you provide invitation letters when applying for a Travel Visa?
We are happy to supply invite letters for you to submit with your Travel Visa application. For more information, please contact email@example.com.
Are there discounted hotel rates for conference attendees?
Yes, exclusive FME UC rates are available at select hotels close to the conference venue. For more information, please see the ‘Hotels’ section on the Location page.
What is the recommended attire for conference events?
Business casual attire is recommended for the conference. The conference venue is air-conditioned so you may wish to carry a sweater or sweatshirt with you. Athletic attire is recommended for sport activities (run, soccer and yoga).
What is the anticipated weather forecast for the conference?
In May, the temperature in Vancouver typically ranges from lows of 6°C to 10°C (43°F to 50°F) and highs of 16°C to 19°C (61°F to 66°F). Vancouver is a temperate rainforest, so an umbrella and light jacket could come in handy. A mix of sun, clouds and rain is to be expected.
